We are absolutely delighted that Earth Simulations scenery is now being used by the Defence Helicopter Flying School, based at RAF Shawbury in their new "Innovation Trainers"" nicknamed SQUIB ( SQUirrel In a Box".) We were commissioned by RC simulations, to build for them what is approaching 3400 square kilometres of super high detailed 3D, which includes all the airfields contained within the coverage area too, and is a project that brings with it many innovative improvements allowing for the first time a level of 3D accuracy hitherto unseen in flight simulation on such a scale. The fact it is being used now to help train our armed services is a source of immense personal pride for us all at Earth simulations. Now licensed for home entertainment flight simulation use this enormous high detailed 3D area has been carefully ported to FSX. In terms of density, accuracy, and the sheer scale of the 3D coverage in this project, it is almost certainly true to say that "Shawbury Fields" is the most ambitious 3D project of its kind ever undertaken by anyone for flight simulation purposes. This is serious scenery in every respect, it has a serious purpose and takes a serious flight simmer to fully appreciate it.
